RAYNHAM, MASSACHUSETTS, May 18, 2015. James C. Lively has been named a Community Bank Hero by The Warren Group and Banker & Tradesman. Community Bank Heroes is an annual award that honors the achievements, commitment and dedication of financial professionals who go above and beyond for their institution and community.

Lively joined Bridgewater Savings in 1983 as Chief Financial Officer and worked in several areas of the Bank including as Treasurer, Chief Operations Officer, Senior Lending Officer, and Executive Vice President before attaining his current role as President and Chief Executive Officer in 1995. He graduated from the University of New England with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and graduated in 1986 from Fairfield University's National School of Financial Management. Lively is active in the community and volunteered his time to several local organizations including the Burnell School Advisory Committee, Self Help Board of Directors, Boy Scouts of America Troop 35 of Bridgewater Troop Committee and Scoutmaster, Treasurer, Vice President and President Old Colony Boy Scouts Of America, James E West Award and Silver Beaver Award from Old Colony Council BSA, Vigil Member of Tisquantum Lodge, Director, Vice President and President American Lung Association of Southeastern Massachusetts, Director of the American Lung association of Massachusetts, Trustee of the Bridgewater State University Foundation, member Bridgewater Lions Club, Corporator of the United Way of Plymouth County, Corporator of South Shore Hospital, Eucharistic Minister Saint Anne's Church in Raynham, and Special Olympics Volunteer. Industry service includes Director of the Community Bank League of Massachusetts, The SUM ATM Advisory Committee, Credit Union Committee, Executive Committee, Director, Treasurer and Current Vice Chairman of the Massachusetts Bankers Association.

Awards will be distributed at a dinner event on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Omni Parker House in Boston, MA. Recipients will be featured in the May 25 issue of Banker & Tradesman.
