Bridgewater Savings Approved to Offer Grant Money

RAYNHAM, MASSACHUSETTS. April 6, 2015. Bridgewater Savings received approval to offer Federal Home Loan Bank's Equity Builder Program grants for eligible First-Time Home Buyers. The grants are part of a New England-wide grant program.

As an approved participant in the Equity Builder Program (EBP), Bridgewater Savings may submit enrollment requests for funding on behalf of income-eligible home buyers. Grant funds are awarded to participating members in increments of up to $11,000 on a first-come, first-serve, home-buyer by home-buyer basis; EBP funds are not guaranteed or reserved in advance for any participating member or home buyer.

"We are excited to participate in a program like Equity Builder that helps make the dream of homeownership available to more First-Time Home Buyers in our market," stated Jim Lively, Bridgewater Savings President and CEO.

In the last 5 years, Bridgewater Savings has issued 14 grants totaling $170,000 to eligible first-time home buyers. Grant money can be used to provide down-payment and/ or closing-cost assistance. As well, the Bank offers a $400 closing cost discount for eligible grant recipients at closing.
